My spiritual work reflects my interest in feminism, the interplay of science and faith, and ecumicalism. I often use surrealistic or mythic symbolism to express the inexpressable.

Ruach

β€œThe Spirit of God swept over the waters”Gen: 1-2

I created this piece when I discovered that any word referring to the Spirit in the Hebrew Bible is feminine, including Ruach (or Ruah) which means spirit, wind, or breath

Evolution

I was on a panel about science and faith at a Science Fiction conventionand was explaining how I had no problem reconciling Evolution with my faith. I mentioned how life came from air, water, and soil, and equated the changes in evolution with a clay sculptor molding shapes. This image popped into my head and I had to bow out from the rest of the panel to make frenzied notes!
