I have been exploring the possibility that plants on other planets may not be the same color as on Earth. It turns out that NASA has scientists exploring this same question. Even some plants on earth have leaves that are various colors besides green. The kind of light given off by the star the planet circles could influence plant color, as well as the composition of the soil. 

In this painting I chose turquoise sky and purple leaved plants. My idea is that a planet could look pretty alien with a change of color, and presuming that the conditions are enough like Earth's, the basic shapes of the plants would be very similar.
